She portrayed Karen Walker on the NBC sitcom Will & Grace (1998-2006, 2017-2020) where she earned eight Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series winning twice in the years 2000 and the year 2006. As a result of her performance, she was also nominated and won numerous Awards. This included seven consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards as Outstanding performance by female actors in a Comedy Series. Mullally's very first commercial was an McDonald's spot, which also featured John Goodman. She began her career in series in 1986 with The Ellen Burstyn Show. Later, she appeared in sitcoms like Seinfeld Frasier Wings Ned and Stacey Mad About You Caroline in the City 3rd Rock from the Sun as well as Just Shoot Me!. She played the lead character of an episode of Murder She Wrote episode called Coal Miner's Slaughter. In 2012, she had not been able to find work in all those years, and she was in a panic since she did not have enough money to pay her rent.
